Worship Services
On Sunday mornings, the staff or volunteers from local congregations conduct brief, informal, non-denominational worship services at the state park and usually at two of the public use areas on the peninsula. These usually consist of singing, scripture reading, and a short sermon. The entire service is no more that 30 to 45 minutes. Permission for the services at the state park is granted yearly by the Texas Parks and Wildlife. Advance preparation and notification for the services is provided by canvassing the areas on Saturday and posting signs giving times and locations. These services are designed not to interfere or compete with the regular programs of the local churches.
